Inadequate methane reductions deplete remaining carbon budgets for 1.5 °C and 2 °C targets, jeopardizing Paris Agreement goals. This study reveals the non-CO2 emissions assumptions in IPCC's latest budget estimates, assessing impacts from methane, nitrous oxide, fluorinated gases, and aerosols. Alternative emission scenarios show current budgets are exhausted immediately.
