Potassium is essential for plant growth, but its availability is often limited by soil fixation and leaching. Potassium solubilizing microbes (KSMs) enhance potassium availability in soil through organic acid secretion and metal-complexing ligands. Climate change impacts microbial activity, affecting potassium solubilization. This review highlights KSMs' mechanisms and their potential as eco-friendly biofertilizers for improved crop productivity.
